One of the six critical attributes in the transformation of Idaho National Laboratory is the revitalization of nuclear science and engineering education so INL can achieve the vision of becoming the pre-eminent nuclear energy and multi-program national laboratory.

Education Programs

INL has a long history of supporting university-level internships. The primary objective of the INL's Education Programs is to provide strategic leadership in education and laboratory-directed research activities. University Partnerships

When the U.S. Department of Energy created the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in February 2005, the visionary proposal it accepted for INL included the National University Consortium (NUC) - five leading research universities from around the nation whose nuclear research and engineering expertise are of critical importance to the future of the nation's nuclear industry. - more -

K-12 Programs

The K-12 Programs reflect the science, engineering, and technology mission areas of the INL. It is an investment in the next generation workforce such that a talent pool for science and engineering is increased. - more -
