Data Evaluations for the Evaluated Nuclear Structure Data File (ENSDF)

The Nuclear Physics group at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is an active participant in the U.S. Nuclear Data Program (USNDP), and its international equivalent, which produce the Evaluated Nuclear Structure Data File (ENSDF). This is an electronically accessible computer database of radioactive decay and nuclear reaction data maintained at the National Nuclear Data Center (NNDC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The INL group has current responsibility for the nuclear data in this database for nuclei with masses of 153-162, and future responsibility for masses 87 and 163.

The most recent NDS publication of these evaluations are: A= 87(2/91), 153(2/98), 154(10/98), 155(4/94), 156(1/92), 157(6,96), 158(3/96), 159(5,94), 160(8,96), 161(1/90), 162(2/89) and 163(2/89). Revised evaluations for k=162 and 163 have been completed and are being reviewed. Anyone interested in these data can contact NNDC or Dr. Richard Helmer at the INL. Currently the revision of the data for mass 161 is underway and anyone with questions about this work, or pertinent new data in the process of being published can contact Dr. Helmer.

Dr. Helmer is currently the chair of the Working Group on Nuclear Structure and Decay Data of the US NDP and is therefore interested in your comments on the usefullness of the ENSDF database
