Geospatial Science and Engineering (GeoSE) is an emerging discipline that integrates spatial, temporal, and analytical data/tools, and provides new methods for understanding the environment and manmade systems. By combining the power of geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, photogrammetry, geodesy, 3D visualization, global positioning systems (GPS), and computer science, GeoSE provides insight into events that happen and phenomena that exist on earth.

The INL has a dedicated group of GIS, remote sensing, and computer science researchers leading the development of cutting-edge GeoSE tools and applications to address many scientific issues including:
