Battelle Energy Alliance Team Members
The Battelle Energy Alliance (BEA) is a limited liability company wholly owned by Battelle and created to transform INL into the preeminent, multi-program national laboratory within ten years.
BEA embraces the vision set forth by DOE of a nuclear energy renaissance that will enhance the nation's energy security and reshape the world's energy economy. Our priorities are safety and environmental stewardship which will assure the professional well-being of our people and accomplish our mission-to provide international nuclear leadership for the 21st century.
The Battelle Energy Alliance Team consists of:

Battelle: a global science and technology enterprise that develops and commercializes technology and manages laboratories for customers. Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Battelle has a vast science and technology reach.

BWX Technologies (BWXT): the premier manager of complex, high-consequence facilities, will manage INL’s nuclear and national security operations.

Washington Group International: the leading nuclear infrastructure management company, will assess and optimize INL’s infrastructure and create the new infrastructure needed to support DOE’s vision for INL.

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI): a non-profit research and technology organization, which will serve as the vital link between INL and the domestic and international commercial nuclear power industry.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology: the world’s leading nuclear science and engineering university, will help INL create the atmosphere of scientific inquiry and lead a National University Consortium as well as the three Idaho research universities of the Idaho University Consortium in support of nuclear research and related education programs.

BEA is committed to open, honest, timely and frequent communications with employees and stakeholders interested in the future of INL. BEA will use all available means of communications to achieve that goal. We will meet with employees in the workplace, provide frequent e-mailed transition progress reports, conduct informational meetings with INL staff, and present briefings to the public at "town hall" meetings held throughout the region. Furthermore, we will use electronic, print and broadcast media to assure a well-informed workforce and supportive community.
