RSAC 6.2 is the next version of RSAC allowing users to calculate the consequences of a release of radionuclides to the atmosphere. Two major enhancements are included in this release, the move to Fortran 90 and the new Windows interface. The move from Fortran 77 to Fortran 90 allows RSAC to run on the latest versions of Windows and provides future flexibility. Windows Rsac Plus (WinRp) is the new Windows overlay for RSAC.
WinRp provides the interface for creating run files, editing run files, performing calculations with RSAC in current or batch mode, and other tools. An explorer type output window breaks down the results into sections that allows quick access to the data of interest. Files of different types (WinRp, Text, Ascii) can be run in batch mode which allows quick comparison in the output window. WinRp stores the results of all files run with RSAC in a history database. This provides an easy way to compare results with any file in the history and recovery of lost result files.
The latest enhancements to WinRp 2.0 includes a new file format that allows added flexibility. Using this new file format other capabilites and programs can now be added to RSAC. One of the most noteable features from the new file format is that users can now enter multi-line comments to describe the chosen options for a line of input. The comments can now be placed either above the line, following the line, or in both places.
