Researchers at INL have developed a technique that reduces the electrical contact resistance between tubular fuel cells an electrolysis cells. Tubular fuel cell bundles have high electrical contact resistance from one cell to the next. The tubes are usually lined up at right angles to the tubes above, below and on the sides. The possibility exists to decrease the overall volume for the same performance of the fuel cell.
